What is Laser Hair Removal?Laser hair removal uses noninvasive laser heat to disrupt active-growth hair follicles. It works by delivering short pulses of precision energy directly into each follicle, where it’s absorbed by the pigments. This process effectively fragments the follicle or “flips the switch” so it can no longer produce hair. Gentle, noninvasive, and virtually painless, laser hair removal is considered a preferential cosmetic treatment — meaning it effectively targets hair follicles without harming skin cells and other nearby tissues. On the day before the treatment, you’ll have to shave before we use laser hair removal. Shaving beforehand makes it easier for lasers to find the hair follicles. You won’t have to shave for quite a while after your laser hair removal treatment. Within several treatments, you’ll have less hair.
The Benefits of Laser Hair RemovalLaser hair removal uses heat to stop the growth of active hair follicles. Laser hair removal is virtually painless and doesn’t hurt as much as waxing. Contrary to popular belief, hair doesn’t grow back thicker after laser hair removal. You’ll feel smoother, silkier skin for longer with our hair removal treatment. There isn’t any recovery time, so you can schedule the appointment and go about your day as normal.

Frequently asked questions
How much will laser hair removal cost?
The cost of laser skin removal depends on the surface areas that you would like hair removed from. Dr. Assif will assess the areas in your initial consultation discuss the cost and expectations for your laser hair removal.
How long does laser hair removal last?
Laser hair removal is a great alternative to shaving and waxing because it takes longer for hair to reappear than those two methods. During your first treatments, you can return for an appointment every six weeks in order to target the hair follicles completely.
How many treatments will it take?
The number of laser hair removal treatments needed will be determined by your consultation with Dr. Assif. Typically, you’ll be able to see the optimum result of finer hair and fewer hair follicles in the treated areas after six to eight treatments. You’ll see a 70%-80% reduction in hair follicles after that and can go in for annual touch-ups.
Is laser hair removal safe?
Yes, laser hair removal is FDA-approved. Our team will talk you through any potential risks before you begin treatment. At our Orange County med spa, we make it our priority to ensure that all our patients feel safe and informed before undergoing any procedure.
